2017 Acadia Workshops x2

Kane Path/ Canon Brook Trail, October 2016

For years, I've been working on putting together my own photography workshop in Acadia. For one reason or another, I've never gotten it off the ground, though I've had interest from several people all over the country. Well, that's all about to change, and you'll have two choices to spend time with me in Acadia this Autumn.

Out of Chicago leads workshops and seminars in the Chicago area for aspiring photographers. This October, they'll be hosting their first Acadia workshop, Out of Acadia, from October 1-5. As one of several professional photographers, I'll be teaching a seminar on landscape photography as well as leading participants on several outings in the national park. There will also be plenty of other seminars dealing with all aspects of landscape and travel photography. Space is limited to 100 participants. Visit Out of Acadia to find out more and sign up. It's going to be a lot of fun, with plenty of professional photographers to learn from and interact with.

As if that wasn't enough, I'll be running my first Acadia photo tour/ workshop, also in October (dates TBA). This will be a much smaller group, probably 4-8 people tops. You'll be staying at my favorite hotel in Bar Harbor and spending all day out in the national park, visiting some of my favorite sites, shooting from dawn til dusk and receiving personal instruction from me. In the evenings we'll get together to look over the day's pictures, and I'll teach you some of my favorite techniques for processing your images. If you're interested in joining me, send me an email and I'll send you updated information on dates, costs, etc. as soon as they're available.

Which one do you choose? Both will be great ways to learn photography in a beautiful environment from expert photographers (if I can call myself an expert...). Out of Acadia will be a little more relaxed, but with more instructors to learn from, while my solo workshop will be just myself leading, but will be a more rigorous few days of all-out photography, not to mention good food and conversation in the evenings.

I hope to see some of you in October!
