The Official Bar Harbor Visitors Guide 2022

Having a cover image on a magazine never gets old, specially when it relates to my work in Acadia. The official 2022 visitors guide for Bar Harbor is out and my 2018 image of the sunrise at Little Hunters Beach is on the cover. The Chamber of Commerce contacted me last September or October, so I knew it was coming, but it’s nice to finally have a copy in my hands. The visitors guide will go out in the mail to tens of thousands of people over the next few months. You can get a copy by filling out a form on the Chamber’s website and requesting your free copy, or stop by and pick one up at the Chamber’s storefront at the corner of Cottage and Main.

The photo was taken on a cold morning in October 2018, just before my photo workshop started. I used my Pentax 645Z medium format camera, exposing the image at 1/3 second at f/16, ISO 100, with a three stop graduated ND filter over the sky to bring down the brightness. I used the 28-45mm lens at 28 (22 equivalent in 35mm).
